Not everything great can make it into an article, so I've included some more images and documents here on the blog!
The article on the Drunkometer was inspired by my visit to Spirit Republic at the National Archives last year. The exhibit explored America's changing relationship with alcohol using material culture and archives held by NARA, and although small, really showcased some interesting finds. A lot of American alcohol history is tied up with Prohibition and the repeal of Prohibition, and some of my favorite parts of the exhibit came from that, like the 1933-1934 wall of beer labels and the photographs of prohibition repeal.
